I have always been drawn to the softness and delight of moss and miniatures. I think of them as fairy worlds to explore.
Painting with alcohol ink has been a meditative way for me to practice releasing control of outcome. It has encouraged me to take on an experimental approach to life, which – for me – is about shifting from "there is one right way" (perfectionism) to "I'm here to explore and see what happens. This experiment is going to produce some kind of result and no matter the outcome, it'll be a valuable experience." From this headspace, I am able to access play, awe, and curiosity as I explore.
Solar prints are made by casting shadows on light-reactive paper, like cyanotypes.
I also have some of my doodles if you're interested in seeing what play looks like!
